Abstract(in English) | With the growth of cloud computing, the demand for higher bandwidth and lower latency in data center networks continues to increase. In the future, high-bandwidth and long-distance optical networks may be used to expand interconnection between multiple remote sites. In conventional data centers, Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) has been implemented as a transport method for fast and reliable data transfer. However, since RDMA is a Queue-based connection-type communication model, its transfer performance degrades significantly as the transmission distance becomes longer. In this paper, we propose a technique to improve the data transfer performance by placing a transparent accelerator in the network and pseudo-returning the connection acknowledgement from the accelerator. Through implementation evaluation, we show that the performance of RDMA can be maintained at high levels even when the transmission distance becomes long. |
