Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Distributed antenna system using high-frequency bands such as millimeter-wave and sub-terahertz is expected to be one of promising method to increase remarkably the capacity of future wireless communications. Because the high-frequency bands system can provide a wider bandwidth than the conventional wireless communications and the distributed antenna system improves the spatial multiplexing transmission performance by reducing spatial correlations of the MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) channel in LoS(Line-of-Sight) environments. However, the overhead of beam searching for antennas beamforming in the system is larger than the conventional wireless communications, because the beamwidth of antennas are needed to be narrower to compensate large propagation attenuation of the high frequency bands and the beams searching are needed to be operated for all of the distributed antennas. In this paper, in order to solve the problem, we propose a newly beam searching method to limit the directions of beams sweep based on the combinations of beams selected among the distributed antennas in the past. We show that the proposed method can reduce the number of beam searching by about 74.1% maintaining the same transmission capacity performances, as compared with the conventional full-beam searching by computer simulation. In addition, for efficient operation of the proposed method, the authors propose a method interpolating beam combination histories to reduce the number of beam combination histories required to maintain the transmission capacity, and show that the number of the beam combination histories required that can be reduced by about 79.6%. |
