Abstract(in English) | When visually impaired people go out, there are various hazards such as steps and obstacles. Many navigation systems and notification methods using voice or vibration have been proposed to solve this problem. On the other hand, there are very few notification methods that use force sensation. In this study, we proposed a system that prompts the user to stop walking by presenting a sense of weight through an illusion of pressure on the lower leg, making it difficult to walk. When the system detects an obstacle during walking, it compresses the lower leg with an arm band used in blood pressure monitors. When the user feels it is difficult to walk due to this pressure, they stop walking and naturally avoid danger. In this study, two proposed systems are evaluated, which are focused on the compression speed of the lower leg and measured the walking distance from the start of compression to the stop of walking. |
