Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This research develops an eyeglass-type switch which can be connected to a communication device using the eye movement for ALS patient. In our previous study, the open/closed state of the eye was classified using the CNN classification model when detecting the pupil center point. However, since the degree of eye opening differs from patient to patient, there was a problem that it was difficult to judge by the same criteria. This paper proposes a method to determine the open/closed state of the eye by detecting the contour points around the eye using the CNN regression model and calculating the angle of the eye. To evaluate the development system, we conducted a subject experiment on 12 healthy students in which the switch was operated in the indicated direction. As a result, we obtained an operation success rate of 91.1% and confirmed the effectiveness of our system. |
