Abstract(in English) Thermo-optic silicon photonics switch offers significantly better energy efficiency and bandwidth with a fast switching time at the microsecond scale. Microsecond optical path-switching will have a good opportunity to dramatically scale up the performance of computing/networking. Toward this end, required features of optical switches are multi-terabit line rates and port scalability more than 100,000 ports. Thus far, we have developed a 32 × 32 silicon photonics switch having an average fiber-to-fiber insertion loss of 12.2 dB and crosstalk of -24 dB in 5-nm bandwidth. However, its fully-loaded and cascaded operations have yet to be assessed for the given loss and crosstalk. In this paper, we demonstrate 16-ch. × 32-Gbaud QPSK/probabilistically-shaped-64QAM WDM transmission by three/nine cyclic propagations through a fully-loaded 32 × 32 silicon photonics switch. With the use of this switch in a 9-stage Clos network, a 125-Pb/s (131,072 ports × 0.952-Tb/s QPSK) strictly-nonblocking optical switch can be realized.
