Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As an alternative of electrical sensors, various types of optical fiber sensors have been extensively studied. Herein, let us focus on fiber-optic sensors that detect single-section strain. In general, fiber-optic strain sensors are influenced not only by strain but also by temperature. Discriminative strain and temperature sensing can be achieved by combined use of some strain sensing mechanism and Raman scattering, the spectral power of which is influenced only by temperature. However, because of the significant differences in various performances, conventional Raman temperature sensors were not compatible with the existing strain sensors. In this work, as a first step toward implementing high-speed Raman temperature sensors based on anti-Stokes spectral power, we elucidate the optimal observed frequency band for measuring the power of the Raman scattering spectrum.
