Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, physical layer security technologies that encrypt the physical layer using information theory have attracted much attention. As one of them, we have proposed a chaos modulation that has both physical layer security and channel coding effects. However, the chaos modulation is a kind of Gaussian modulation, and has a problem that the accuracy of log-likelihood ratio (LLR) approximated by Max-log is degraded in worse channel environments, because it does not use a fixed constellation mapping and the distance between signal points is not constant. As a result, existing LLR calculation methods suffer from the performance degradation due to error propagation in turbo decoding. To tackle this problem, in this paper, we propose a new LLR clipping method that can be optimally applied to chaos modulation by limiting the confidence level of LLR and suppressing error propagation. This method improves the performance of turbo decoding. Numerical results show that the proposed method achieves the same performance as the one using the exact LLR.
