{Architecture for Configurable Real-time Device Identification in Campus Core Networks

Abstract(in English) In recent years, data traffic of IoT devices is increasing rapidly. In order to achieve a secure management of large-scale network, it is important to have a technology to monitor at the core network, identify types of connected devices accurately in real-time. Device identification is one of important technology, whose process consists of following three steps; flow classification, calculation of feature statistics of flows, learning-based identification. To realize device identification in real-time, not only to optimize every step but to optimize how to cooperate with each other. Additionally, it is required to introduce new processes such as anomaly detection should be deployed and conducted in parallel. In this paper, we aim real-time device identification in real-time, and propose a design of configurable architecture to realize faster processing of identification. We also deploy our implemented architecture in our campus network to validate a feasibility.
