Abstract(in English) | Public wireless LAN services have been developed, and opportunities for handover due to terminal movement will increase. Therefore, it is necessary to improve communication performance during handover. Many applications use TCP. When handover occurs, a TCP connection will be closed once. The disconnection influences communication performance. To address the problem, we focused on using MPTCP that is a TCP extension protocol. MPTCP constructs sub-flows for each of the multiple communication interfaces. Each sub-flow communicates in the same way as conventional TCP. In this paper, we reveal the problem that sub-flow disconnection causes redundant retransmission via the experiments. In addition, we propose a method to disconnect a sub-flow after performing an appropriate processing procedure. We confirmed that the proposed method prevented redundant retransmission and improved the goodput transition through the implementation and experimental results. |
