Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) While photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) obtains high spatial resolution, the conventional mechanical scanning method requires a long imaging time, which is a problem in the biological application of PAM. In particular, the optical resolution method (OR-PAM) requires a large number of scan points to reflect its high lateral resolution into the PA image. Therefore, the conventional methods required ~30 minutes for imaging. Thus, in this study, we developed a high-speed imaging OR-PAM system using a MEMS mirror. In addition, to correct the nonlinear image distortion derived by the high-speed mirror scanning, we also proposed a method to easily restore the distortion only by imaging a micro ruler in advance. The developed MEMS-OR-PAM and nonlinear distortion correction method made it possible to image microvessels with a lateral resolution of 6 ?m and an imaging time of ~30 seconds.
