Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With the progress of information communication technology such as 5G and 6G, devices which have not been connected to the network, are now started to be connected. In particular, control applications that must process in real-time, such as industrial machine control, which were previously deployed only in local locations e.g. in factories, are considered to be deployed in remote edge cloud. By deploying these applications in edge cloud, it is expected that we will obtain various benefits such as redundancy, cooperation between locations and utilization of datawhile maintaining low latency or real-time characteristics. To achieve this, various studies are currently advanced. In such a networked control system (NCS) that controls industrial machines remotely via a network, disturbance effects between device and application such as processing or network jitter occurred at virtualization infrastructure or network in between should be eliminated. This is required to provide a deterministic periodic control, which provides precise data delivery and data processing in a predefined period for real time applications. In this paper, we investigate issues related to resource isolation and management for accommodating deterministic periodic control applications in multi-tenancy edge cloud. To address these issues, we propose a deterministic periodic architecture which is composed of virtualization infrastructure and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies.
