Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We describe an example application of an educational robot arm and a new acoustic measurement procedure for visualizing sound wave propagation. Using an inexpensive robot arm makes such visualization accessible for researchers who do not have easy access to dedicated acoustic measurement facilities, such as anechoic camber and automated measuring systems. We introduced an inverse filter design procedure using a causal and non-oscillating target impulse response for making visualization results easy to understand. We also used a new acoustic measurement procedure based on an extended time-stretched pulse (CAPRICEP: Cascaded All-Pass filters with RandomIzed CEnter frequencies and Phase polarity) combined with a simultaneous measurement procedure of multiple acoustic attributes. We removed handshaking and made system development easy by using internal clocks, which are synchronized using NTP (Network Time Protocol), for scheduling the measurement, the robot control, and acoustic measurement systems.
