Abstract(in English) As the resolutions and aspect ratios of displays are becoming increasingly diverse, there is growing interest in image resizing techniques to convert a single image to a different resolution and aspect ratio. In recent years, a technique called Image Retargeting (IR) has been attracting attention for its ability to resize images with minimal uncomfortable feeling. Several methods have already been proposed, and it has been confirmed that they produce less uncomfortable feeling results than simple methods such as scaling and cropping, but on the other hand, they also cause a lot of uncomfortable feeling depending on the image contents. In this paper, we analyze the factors that cause uncomfortable feeling by measuring the subjective asessment and eye movements during the assessment process for retargeted images.
