Low Complexity Channel Analysis using Discrete Fourier Basis for Wireless LAN Sensing

Abstract(in English) Channel State Information (CSI) sensing over wireless LAN is gathering attention, because it enables economically and easily to apply several applications in smart homes and healthcare, such as a human detection, motion detection and vital signs monitoring. In CSI sensing, principal component analysis (PCA) is used for feature extraction and dimensionality reduction as a step of machine learning. However, the computational complexity of PCA is high due to its singular value decomposition (SVD). In this paper, we propose a low complexity CSI analysismethod which performs an imperfect diagonalization using discrete Fourier basis. This approach is based on the characteristics of OFDM transmission. The real experiments show that the proposed method has three effectiveness in following aspects, computational complexity, feature extraction, and dimensionality reduction.
