Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The phenomenon known as ``polarization,'' in which a social group splits into two or more groups, can hurt social activities by causing the radicalization of opinions and the spread of misinformation. To develop technologies to mitigate the effects of polarization, it is necessary to understand the mechanism of its occurrence. Related work has proposed some models of polarization in which network structure changes and the dynamics of user opinion formation proceed, based on the quantified opinion held by each user in social networks. In this paper, based on the spectral graph theory, which can describe the structure of online social networks mathematically, we propose the model of polarization that user behavior and network structure change while influencing each other and investigate the characteristics of the proposed model. Simultaneously, we propose an index to evaluate the degree of polarization of the network quantitatively, which is needed for our investigations.
