Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Rain attenuation characteristics due to rain area motion associated with rain front passage are investigated for the equivalent path lengths averaged over each rainfall event, using the Ku band satellite signal observations conducted in Neyagawa, Osaka, from 1988 to 2019. The ground wind speeds by AMeDAS in usual rainfall events accompanied with rain fronts or low pressures do not show so large values as in typhoon events. The average values of ground wind speeds and rain area motions, however, indicate a good correlation with the equivalent path lengths. They tend to become large as the averaged wind directions approach the direction of BS azimuth angle, while they tend to become small as the wind directions approach the opposite direction of BS azimuth angle. |
