Abstract(in English) Current intra-data center networks face the bandwidth crunch and power consumption limitation of electrical switches. One solution is the introduction of optical circuit switches which effectively handle the large volume of intra-datacenter traffic. This paper presents an architecture of typical data center networks and addresses its issue for expanding networks. The requirements for optical circuit switches and their recent trends are summarized. Finally, we introduce our scalable and fast optical circuit switches based on silicon photonics technology.
