Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, FR-4 substrates are widely used in PCB. FR-4 substrates are composed of glass fiber and epoxy resin, and therefore have anisotropy. It is well known that transmission signals in PCB are affected by FR-4’s anisotropy. However, the electromagnetic simulation to consider the effect of anisotropy accurately and efficiency has not been developed. In this study, we developed the FDTD analysis considering the anisotropy and frequency dispersion of FR-4 substrate by measuring the complex permittivity in each direction using the BCDR and the SPDR method. Using the developed analysis, we investigate the effect of anisotropy to signal transmission characteristics.
