FSO-MIMO Transmission of RoF signal using 2 micro-meter wavelength

Abstract(in English) Free-space optical communication (FSO) is a wireless communication technology capable of high-speed communication of several kilometers, and is attracting attention as a next generation infrastructure, but it has the disadvantage that signal strength is attenuated by meteorological phenomena such as rain and fog. This attenuation depends on the wavelength, and it is expected that the 2?m band will have better transmission characteristics and eye safe than the conventional 1.5?m band. In this study, we show the results of evaluation of basic characteristics and transmission experiments for free space transmission using this 2?m band. In addition, RoF transmission of MIMO signals, which is considered as an example of utilization of FSO, is performed by FSO, and its effectiveness is shown and the superiority of the 2?m band is shown.
