Implementation and Evaluation of IOTA Private Tangle

Abstract(in English) Recently, there has been increasing attention to adopting distributed ledger technologies (DLTs), such as blockchain, in the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Among DLTs, the IOTA technology or IOTA Tangle, which enables fee-less, low-latency transactions and scalability with low computation resources, shows a lot of potentials in the IoT domain. However, most of the previous works have focused on the public Tangle, which runs on the Internet and is impossible to modify. In this work, we take a different approach by exploiting the private IOTA Tangle, allowing users to customize various functions. More specifically, we have built and evaluated a private Tangle using cloud server. In addition, we experiment and evaluate our Tangle when adjusting several important parameters, such as the Minimum Weight Magnitude (MWM) value which defines the difficulty of consensus algorithm in IOTA.
