Dependence of Alignment on the transmission control of 120-GHz-band SRR bandstop filter by contacting Lattice Pattern

Abstract(in English) Terahertz (THz)-band close-proximity wireless link can achieve instantaneous transfer of large amounts of data, however, one system occupies a wide bandwidth, and therefore, in order to suppress interference between other wireless systems, it is necessary to suppress emission of unnecessary radio waves. In this research, we investigate the integration of 120-GHz-band bandstop filter that employs a split-ring resonator (SRR) with the antenna. SRR bandstop filter can reduce unnecessary radio waves when the transmitter antenna is used alone. When the transmitter antenna and receiver antenna are brought into contact with each other, THz waves can be transmitted only through the area where the transmitter antenna and receiver antenna contacted. We prototyped an SRR bandstop filter formed on a quartz substrate, and showed that the transmission characteristic of the SRR bandstop filter alone at 125 GHz is -29.9 dB, and it changes to -4.1 dB when the lattice pattern is set close to the SRR bandstop filter. In this paper, we report alignment dependency of transmission characteristics of 120-GHz-band SRR bandstop filter coupled with lattice pattern, and report the new design of alignment-free lattice pattern.
