[Poster Presentation] A Study on Recieving Algorithm for Image Sensor Communication Using Rotary LED Transmitter

Abstract(in English) A rotary LED transmitter, which was developed in our previous study, is a device that transmits data using the afterimages created by rotating LED lights for image sensor communication (ISC). Thanks to the operation of the transmitter, a receiver camera can capture multiple LED lights as the afterimages in a single image. Since the number of received signals per time is increased, the data rate when using this transmitter is improved. However, when this ISC system is used in an actual environment, the receiver needs to detect the position of the transmitter and coordinates of LED lights from the captured image before demodulating the data. In this paper, we propose detection methods of the transmitter position and LED coordinates in ISC using the rotary LED transmitter. Concretely, we send known LED lighting patterns as a header, and the receiver extracts them to detect the transmitter position and LED coordinates using image processing techniques. As a result of experiments using the proposed method, we have confirmed that both detection methods operate correctly in a short communication range of up to 2.0 m.
