Harness Modeling Method Applying Surface Roughness to Improve Accuracy

Abstract(in English) Model Based Development (MBD) has been attracting attention as a method to shorten the time required for vehicle development, and in-vehicle communication is also being developed using analytical models. In-vehicle communication models can be divided into two categories: ECU and harness. In the past, attenuation in the ECU was dominant, but with the recent increase in speed, the contribution of attenuation in the harness is increasing. However, there are few reports on the modeling of harnesses because the attenuation caused by harnesses can be ignored in low-speed communication. In this paper, we propose a method for measuring and modeling surface roughness using a laser microscope. From the analysis results of the model that takes into account the measured surface roughness, it is shown that the accuracy of the pass characteristics is improved by 0.24 dB/m (49%) at 1 GHz compared to the case without taking into account the surface roughness.
