Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, with the spread of light emitting diodes (LEDs), the use of LEDs for road indicators is progressing. However, LEDs generate less heat than conventional incandescent light bulbs, and the risk of traffic accidents due to the effects of snow accretion on the signal display is regarded as a problem. From the above background, we are studying a snow accretion removal system for signal lights. From previous research, we have confirmed that by using various infrared array sensors for monitoring under the same conditions that are not affected by the on / off of signal lights and day/night. In this study, in addition to these, we examined the recognition of snow accretion conditions using deep learning, in order to provide accurate feedback to the system for snow accretion removal.
