Guaranteed Network Resource Provision with Micropayment

Abstract(in English) The demand for good network resources will become increasingly importantin the eras of 5G and Beyond5G with various Quality of Service (QoS) restricted applications. However, due to the high price of 5G services, the users may want to only pay for resources they actually use. Motivated by that, this paper proposes a system that uses cryptocurrencypayment for guaranteed network resources, such as latency or bandwidthprovisions. The system leverages Software-Defined Networking (SDN) torealize the provision of QoS guarantee resources. Moreover, IOTA isutilized as a cryptocurrency and distributed ledger for payment. Weimplement and evaluate the system in a Wi-Fi scenario using mininet-wifi, IOTA clients, and an SDN controller. The evaluation results show that, with IOTA payments, the system can achieve the guaranteed delay andbandwidth provision per user requests.
