Development of a RESTful water level measurement system for monitoring and remote control of sluice gates along the Onga river

Abstract(in English) Nogata City faces challenges in remote control of sluice gates along the Onga river. This is because the operators are elderly and no replacement. To solve this problem, we develop a water level measurement system as a part of a remote control of sluice gates. In particular, since sluice gates are located far away from the central city area, the system needs the operation without commercial electrical power supply. Thus, the system uses a portable power and a solar panel. In addition, we propose a control method of power supply for power saving. The developed system was operated for 40 hours in a sluice gate along the Onga River, and we could find new technical issues for realistic operations.
