Improvement Study on Communication Parameter Control for LPWA Network using Radio Environment Monitoring

Abstract(in English) In Internet of Things (IoT) era, the demand for Wireless Networks that can accommodate a wide range of terminals at low cost is increasing. For this reason, the development of low-power wide-area (LPWA) wireless network (NW) is actively underway. In the future, this further increase in this development is expected. In particular, since multiple LPWA systems which use 920MHz unlicensed band are operated simultaneously in the same area, there is concern that the radio interference problem between multiple standards wireless communication systems will become serious. Therefore, we are studying analysis of radio wave environments using information on radio interference from other communication devices not managed by own NW in addition to radio wave conditions from terminals and gateways managed by own NW. Further, we are studying the communication parameter control using the results of the radio wave environments analysis. The studies so far have assumed that the transmission power control range is sufficient. However it is possible that the transmission power control range is insufficient. This paper presents results of studies on transmission parameter control when the transmission power control range is sufficient. In the communication parameter control we have studied so far, if many terminals do not control transmission power, the characteristics will deteriorate. Therefore we are studying the channel assignment scheme considering the received power at each gateway. In addition, we are studying the adaptive selection scheme of the transmission power control scheme and the spreading factor control scheme depending on the channel used and the radio wave environment. This paper presents results of improvement studies on this channel assignment scheme, transmission power control scheme, and spreading factor control scheme.
