Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Resilience is an index that takes into account not only the reduction of damage caused by system failures, but also the fluctuation in the state of a system after a failure and during its repair. Research on resilience has been conducted to calculate the resilience of a given network when a failure occurs, or to study ways to make the system more resilient. In this paper, we present a method for calculating the operational resilience of network system like power grid, which represents the capability of the system for the entire operational period, by considering simultaneous failures caused by common cause failures as large-scale failures and treating the occurrence and repair of failures as Markov processes. Since this method is a multidimensional Markov analysis with the number of edges as a dimension, it becomes difficult to calculate the resilience as the system size increases. Therefore, we also propose an approximate analysis using a one-dimensional Markov process. Then, we verify the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method by numerical experiments.
