Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been conducting research aiming to maintain a healthy and independent life by meal assistive technology. The aim of this research is an early diagnosis and detection method for pneumonia risk based on silent aspiration during sleep. In order to screen for pneumonia, a measurement method that does not restrict the subject's movement and does not disturb sleep is required. In the experiment, the swallowing EMG at the subject's neck by using a sheet-type measuring device--the sensor sheet--, swallowing sound and respiratory during three hours of sleep were measured. The subject neck area was recorded by video cameras. Three examiners judged the subject's swallowing based on the recorded waveforms and movies. After adjusting and aligning the judgment criteria among the examiners based on the measurement results, 19 swallows per hour were confirmed.
