| Abstract(in English) | Many reports have suggested a simple test to examine sleep quality for screening at home in recent years. However, their simple tests were not still fully established. The purpose of this study is to assess a possible and straightforward methodology to estimate sleep quality from Heart Rate (HR) during sleep. In this study, polysomnography (PSG) signals of the subjects were recorded during sleep to estimate the sleep stages and to calculate the sleep parameters associated with sleep quality. Then, the authors measured the autonomic nervous system activity through Tone-Entropy analysis (TE). From the sleep parameters, the authors examined the relationship between their parameters with Pearson’s correlation. As a result, the slope on HR showed a significant correlation on both sleep period time and sleep stage N3 (0.54, 0.61). The slope on Entropy also showed a significant correlation to sleep efficiency (0.72). Our results indicated that the slopes of HR and Entropy could estimate sleep efficiency. |
