Magnetic properties of cobalt ferrite thin films deposited on NiO and Cu2O seed layers

Abstract(in English) In order to make Cobalt ferrite(CFO) exhibit perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, CFO thin films were deposited on a few orientation-controled seed layers. Its crystal structure and magnetic properties were evaluated. The crystal orientation of the NiO thin film changed depending on the incident power, and the (100) crystal plane was strongly oriented in the film plane by depositing at the incident power of 2.2 W/cm2 and post-annealing at 900?C. Next, a Cu2O thin film was deposited on the (001) oriented NiO seed layer, which resulted in the (100) crystal plane of Cu2O was preferentially oriented in the film surface. Finally, as a result of preparing the NiO / Cu2O / CFO thin film, the (110) plane of the CFO was oriented in the film plane, and its magnetic property was isotropic.
