A Dynamic Path Establishment Method using Superposition Coding in EON

Abstract(in English) In recent years, elastic optical networks (EONs) have been extensively studied to accommodate significantly increasing Internet traffic. In EON, it is necessary to reduce fragmentation and to use frequency slots efficiently. Therefore, the superimposed coding technique, which has been studied to improve frequency utilization efficiency in the wireless domain, is considered to be applied to EON. In our previous study, the conditions for applying superimposed coding to EON and the pairing method for treating it as a static design problem were proposed, and the effectiveness of the method was verified. In this paper, we propose a path setting method using superimposed coding technology for on-demand traffic in EON. Simulation results show that the call blocking probability and bandwidth blocking probability can be reduced by using the proposed method.
