Improvement of Verification Accuracy Using CNN for Color Halftone Images

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose an automatic collation method, which improves the verification accuracy against visual comparison results, for CMYK color halftone images by using convolutional neural network (CNN). It is re- quired to obtain identical outputs from a single printer regardless of the version of operation systems (OSs) or printer driver. However, in practical, some difference might be perceptually caused in a pair of output images when an RGB image is converted to a CMYK color halftone image. Conventionally, such output images have been manually checked. This task, however, requires a great deal of effort. Therefore, the proposed method adopts VGG16, which is a typical model of CNN, for learning the results based on visual comparison. We evaluate the collation accuracy of the proposed method compared with the conventional method.
