[Tutorial Lecture] Noise Reduction using Nonnegative Matrix Factorization

Abstract(in English) Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) is a general term for methods that factorize a matrix into two or more matrices with the property that all matrices have no negative elements. We can regard NMF as a kind of blind source separation in multivariate analysis, it will estimate source components and their strengths of their effect for each data. The targets that applied NMF have been audios, images, movies, biological signals, texts, an so on. Author have used to analyze the energy of electromagnetic waves in nature, mainly reduce noise. This lecture introduces basic part of NMF and show an application example of noise reduction.
