A Study on Performance Improvement of User Verification Using Intra-Palm Propagation Signals

Abstract(in English) In this study, we focus on biometric authentication using intra-palm propagation signal, which are a new type of biometric information that is not exposed on the body surface. A pair of electrodes is placed on the palm as the input end. A weak electric current is passed between the pair of electrodes, and a leakage electric field is generated around the electrodes. This leakage electric field propagates through the palm and is detected as a voltage change at the output end. In this paper, we propose a new propagation signal and a dedicated measurement device to improve the authentication rate.
