| Abstract(in English) | We previously proposed a lossless image coding method based on example search and probability model optimization. In the method, probabilities of image values are modeled pel-by-pel as a linear combination of Gaussian functions whose center positions are given by examples gathered from a search window in the causal neighborhood. Moreover, a few parameters which controls shapes of the Gaussian functions are iteratively optimized so that the resulting coding rate can be a minimum. In this paper, the definition of the probability model as well as the optimization procedure are modified to reduce the encoding complexity of our method. Simulation results indicate that the computation time for the optimization procedure can be reduced by 95% without sacrificing the coding efficiency. |
