Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | To make a communication system robust even under disastrous circumstances, we have proposed a Vehicular Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network (VDTN) with multiple wireless communication media such as LPWA and Wi-Fi, each of which provides unique wireless communication characteristics to organize heterogeneity for network robustness. For the VDTN performance, it is crucial to maximize the amount of data transferred via Wi-Fi for each communication opportunity, but as far as we know, no paper has proposed a methodology that predicts the behavior of bulk data transmission in inter-vehicular communication (V2V) yet. We performed a field experiment and measured the amount of transmitted data as well as the levels of received signal strength (RSSI) over 2.4GHz IEEE 802.11n-based V2V. The experiment reveals that L2 data frames are transferred frequently in a few second-period while cars are closest, and the seconds can be predicted by detecting temporary RSSI reduction occurred around the period. |
