Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, with the increase in the speed and capacity of optical transmission networks, it is necessary to operate them in a way that makes efficient use of wavelength resources. For efficient use of wavelength resources, wavelength defragmentation has been proposed to reallocate optical paths and improve the efficiency of wavelength utilization. When reallocating wavelengths by wavelength defragmentation, it is necessary to change the control of wavelength reassignment for each quality class to satisfy the required quality of the optical path. In this paper, we propose a wavelength defragmentation scheme that takes into account the attributes of optical paths in optical transmission networks. In the proposed method, different defragmentation operations are performed for each class of an optical path, which enables us to improve the efficiency of wavelength utilization while satisfying the required quality of the service. Specifically, we classify optical paths into three classes and change the control of wavelength reassignment for each class to defragment wavelengths more effectively. The three types of attributes are high reliability path, low latency path, and normal path. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method for optical transmission networks with simulation. In numerical examples, we show that the wavelength utilization efficiency is improved by applying our proposed method.
