Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The number of older population in Japan is increasing than any other country. Bathing has been gathered attention as a method of promoting health that older people can practice easily every day. One of the benefits of bathing is to improve sleep quality. Bathing before bedtime can shorten sleep latency and improve sleep quality by raising body temperature temporarily. Besides, bathing time is generally longer in winter and shorter in summer. In this study, we investigated the relationship between changes in a core body temperature measured from the forehead and outside air temperature. As a result, the higher the outside air temperature, the shorter the time to rise the core body temperature significantly.
