Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the low-cost, small-size, and long-life system, we have developed the fingerprint-based indoor localization system (FB-ILS) using the IEEE802.15.4 protocol that has been used for low-speed short-range wireless communications. By limiting the detection resolution to one room, this FB-ILS system is intended to achieve the high accuracy. The current FB-ILS can detect only one user location using one transmitter. However, it is necessary to detect the locations of multiple users at the same time. In this study, we extend the FB-ILS to afford multiple transmitters, by 1) extending the room detection program in the system, 2) reducing packet losses due to the contentions among the packets from multiple transmitters at each receiver, and 3) avoiding misdetections due to the signal fluctuations caused by the interferences between multiple radio signals from multiple transmitters. For evaluations, we implemented the extended testbed system, and conducted experiments using up to 10 transmitters at the third floor of #2 Engineering Building in Okayama University. The results confirm the effectives of the extended system
