Multiple Helix Large-Scale MIMO Antenna for Inter-Flying Car High-Speed Communications at Plural Target Directions

Abstract(in English) The author presented a multiple helix array structure for realizing a 256 × 256 large-scale MIMO antenna. In this architecture, all the spatial parallel transmission resources are allocated to a single high-speed MIMO transmission, resulting in performing a point-to-point communication. There is a high isolation between helix arrays in the proposed antenna, and thus each helix array can be used as an independent MIMO branch. This paper presents a multiple helix large scale antenna for inter-flying car communications. It is confirmed that four independent MIMO transmissions utilizing a 64 × 64 or 128 × 128 MIMO helix array are feasible to achieve a 100 Gbps-class channel capacity over the full-azimuth with the ability to access four communication targets at different directions by means of separate beam steering functions.
