Abstract(in English) | In a carrier network, its operator sometimes switches edge routers that accommodate user lines for maintenance purposes. This work transfers the configuration that describes the forwarding settings for user communication set in one edge router to another edge router, and the edge router which accommodates the user line is switched. However, the conventional method for this work has caused long communication interruption. To address this problem, we proposed a method to minimize the communication interruption by duplicating the configuration to multiple edge routers and inducing DHCP reconfiguration to user terminals. On the other hand, when a large number of user terminals are targeted, this method temporarily increases the network load on the edge router and the network between the user terminals and the edge router. In this paper, we discuss a method to level these loads and show the effectiveness of this method by simulation experiments. |
