Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Ion channels regulate ion permeation through cell membranes, of which function is very important to control bioelectric signals in vivo. The hERG channel, a potassium channel in cardiomyocites, has been reported to be inhibited by drugs, which sometimes causes lethal arrhythmia. In this study, we focused on evaluation of drug side-effects on the hERG channels based on a reconstitution system in which the hERG channel was embedded in an artificial bilayer lipid membrane (BLM).
