Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Just a few special people used wireless systems half century ago, however wireless systems such as mobile communications and wireless LAN (Local Area Network) are indispensable for our dairy life nowadays. There are various kinds of wireless systems using prestigious frequency spectrum, e.g. wireless communication systems and radar systems, and these wireless systems are designed by using radio and networking technologies well suited for the target wireless systems satisfying user or service requirements. One of the most important goals of radio technologies would be to achieve higher spectrum efficiency to utilize the limited frequency resources. Wireless communications have been advancing toward higher transmission speed and higher capacity so far, and mobile communications are now moving forward from 5G to B5G/6G. In addition, various kinds of wireless systems such as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), sensor and radar will be utilized anywhere in IoT (Internet of Things) era. How will wireless systems including wireless communications look like in IoT era ? What should we tackle as wireless engineers ? This invited talk looks back the research and development of wireless systems which the author has been involved for the half century and try to describe future perspectives of wireless systems.
