Abstract(in English) | To increase the capacity of optical transmission systems, it is important to improve a spectral efficiency by utilizing multi-level modulation while extending of the optical-band used in the wavelength multiplexing. This paper reports a wide-band WDM transmission experiment employing an optical parametric amplifier (OPA) using a periodically poled LiNbO3 (PPLN) waveguides as an inline repeater. We show the PPLN-based OPA with over-10-THz bandwidth and over-15-dB gain. And it can amplify polarization-division-multiplexed WDM signal while rejecting undesired idlers for an inline repeater. We have successfully demonstrated 92.4-km (3 span × 30.8 km) inline-amplified WDM transmission with PPLN-based OPA, using 800-Gbps PS-36QAM signal in the 125-GHz-spaced 41-ch WDM configuration. |
