Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Network slicing enables us to install multiple virtualized network functions (slices) dedicated for multiple services into one infrastructure. One of key challenges is determining the placement of virtualized network functions (VNFs) consisting each service slice, considering with interference among slices on the infrastructure. However, solving the VNF placement problem by regarding it as facility location problem takes too many computation time. Contrast for the existing approaches, in this paper, we discuss the VNF placement method based on salience, that is one of metrics of characteristics of link in networks. We evaluated the performance of our proposal in the scenario that two slices are gradually extended and reconstructed as users increase. As a result, our proposal suppresses VNF migration cost for slice reconstruction to one third lesser than that of solutions obtained by the optimization problem. Furthermore, average path length between VNFs and user equipment becomes only 20% larger than that of the optimal solution.
