Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A hybrid architecture using edge computing for data collection and storage and the cloud platform for data analysis and utilization is promising for various business IoT systems, such as mobility or smart factory service systems. A private or virtual private network for business systems connecting the edge and the cloud platform provides limited bandwidth because it is expensive. Bandwidth-intensive traffic occupies the queue in the network and causes large latency for delay-sensitive traffic when delay-sensitive traffic shares the limited bandwidth with bandwidth-intensive traffic. Some TCP protocol at the end host solves the congestion in the network; however, it is difficult to replace all protocol stack of various IoT devices. We propose edge-based scavenger traffic control technology that reduces the latency of delay-sensitive traffic by controlling receive window and delay at the edge router to solve this problem. Our proposed method's evaluation result shows that 98% of delay-sensitive traffic fulfills the requirement when delay-sensitive traffic shares network resources with bandwidth-intensive traffic. |
