Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In high-speed wired communications, studies are being conducted to increase the transmission capacityby using multiple lines. In differential transmission, 2n signal lines are required to send n signals. In contrast, wehave proposed mode division multiplexed transmission method that can transmit n signals with n+1 lines. In theproposed method, an adder is required because multiple mode voltages are added together and applied to the cable. In this report, we fabricated a mode signal application circuit using an adder with an operational amplifier. A 1 mshielded 4-wire cable was connected to the circuit, and a square wave equivalent to 20 Mbps was applied to eachmode to demonstrate the mode division multiplexed transmission method. As a result, the fabricated circuit boardwas able to apply single mode signals and multiple mode signals simultaneously. As a comparison, we performedsingle-ended transmission on the same cable and compared the crosstalk between the modes of the proposed methodwith the crosstalk generated in other signal lines. As a result, the single-ended transmission had a signal line-to-linecrosstalk of up to 22%for the voltage value output on the line that was sending the signal. On the other hand, themode-multiplexed transmission method resulted in about 4%, a reduction of about 15dB.
