Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nowadays, the fifth generation wireless mobile system (5G), which was released in 2020, mainly uses a frequency band from 3.6 to 4.9 GHz called sub-6. Wireless devices used near a human body are required to assess human exposure to EMF from those devices. The specific absorption rate (SAR) is used for an assessment of a human exposure to EMF from cellular phones in frequency band form 700 MHz to 6 GHz. The SAR probe which is one of the electric field sensor is used for SAR measurement, but before measurement, probe calibration should be performed to relate the received electric field to the output voltage of the SAR probe. In addition, the uncertainty evaluation is necessary to guarantee the calibration result. We had performed the SAR probe calibration and the uncertainty evaluation in the frequency band from 700 MHz to 3.5 GHz used for fourth generation wireless mobile system (4G). In this study, we evaluated the probe calibration uncertainty in the frequency band of 5G sub-6. Additionally, we found dominant uncertainty sources of the probe calibration and compared the uncertainty budget of 5G sub-6 with that of 4G.
