Preparation of an experiment kit for highschool physics classes on conversion from mechanical energy to thermal energy

Abstract(in English) An experimental teaching material has been prepared to allow students to experientially confirm the law of conservation of energy in which mechanical energy is converted into thermal energy. A container is placed onto a rotatable table and filled with a certain type of liquid. A plate and a thermometer are placed at certain positions inside the container and fixed with a clamp. Mechanical energy is supplied to the liquid inside the container by rotating the table at a certain speed indicated by a metronome, causing the temperature of the liquid to gradually rise through relative rotating motion. Thus, conversion of mechanical energy into thermal energy can be confirmed through experimental procedures. By using different types of liquids, differences in specific heat can be also experimentally confirmed.
